At a recent event in Bengaluru, Vidya Balan had the crowd laughing with her funny stories. She mentioned how her comedy content on social media has gained popularity, even during a break she took. She expressed her passion for comedy and lamented the lack of comedic roles for actresses in today's cinema landscape. Vidya discussed her love for acting, emphasizing how it allows her to embody various characters and lifestyles. She explained her process of preparing for roles and how it helps her understand the complexities and uniqueness of each character. Additionally, she touched on the importance of self-acceptance regardless of body size.Body image has been a struggle for me since I was a child, but watching The Dirty Picture made me realize that how you feel about yourself has nothing to do with your size. This revelation was very freeing. It not only changed how I saw myself as an actress, but also as an individual. It made me appreciate my body as the vessel that keeps me alive. My sister Priya is my inspiration. She is confident and comfortable in her own skin, someone I admire and confide in.

As women, we are constantly juggling multiple roles in our lives. I believe women may make better actors than men because we are accustomed to taking on different roles every day - as mothers, sisters, wives, and more. We can easily tap into different aspects of ourselves as actors and convey the story the director wants us to tell.

Movies are often inspired by real-life events, rather than the other way around. Films draw from real life experiences and situations. Society tends to blame movies for corrupting society, but in reality, films reflect what is happening in the real world. The idea that cinema should dictate moral standards is flawed, as only a fraction of the population actually watches movies, even the biggest blockbusters.
